Wire - MIG Aluminium PROMAX 5356
5356 grade MIG (GMAW) wire for welding a wide range of magnesium-bearing aluminium alloys. One of the most widely-used grades of aluminium wire. A tried and proven quality wire, manufactured with strict quality-control, layer-wound for reliable wire feeding. Available in 0.9/1.0/1.2mm in 0.45/2/6kg spools.

KEY FEATURES:

- Good corrosion, strength and crack resistance
- High shear strength
- Good wire strength & feedability
APPLICATION INFO:
- For welding cast and wrought aluminium alloys containing magnesium
- Welding 5xxx series alloys, including: 5052, 5083, 5086, 5154, 5251, 5356, 5454, 5456 materials
- Good colour match after anodizing with 5xxx base materials
- Not recommended for elevated service temperature applications (4043 may be a better choice for this application)

- All-positional
- Polarity: DC+ (Wire/torch positive, Earth negative)
- Shielding Gas: 100% Argon
- Wire brushing between each pass is recommended to ensure removal of surface oxide build up
